Silos Gallery in Tarifa,(Silos, 19) is an interesting place. Windsurfing has brought with it people from all over the world and has helped to create a multicultural atmosphere. The owners of Silos are a very good example: Maximilian is German and Isabel is from Madrid. You will be enchanted by the building: an old renovated silo that centuries ago administered to the municipality.
The Gallery will be inaugurated on this month with a selection of new paintings by Isabel (wich she signs as OSA) and sculpture by Maximilian. Osa normally does oil paintings but she also delves in watercolours with expressionist touches. Maxi works with wood, metal sheets stone.... everything. Dharma, an eclectic local groop, will give a special concert in the end of the month with Andalusi sounds in what is a meeting point between Granada and Buenos Aires. This first exhibition will remain on permanent display in the workshop area and the first guest exhibition will be at Christmas. Then comes Easter Week and summer months, from June to September during wich they intend to hold an exhibit a month with selection criteria that cover a wide range of styles. Isabel and Maxi are now looking for artists to set up the exhibitions. Their website (www.silosgallery.com) hosts a section called "Muestra tu Arte" (show youtr art) wich they then subject to their own criteria. The work remains posted on their portal where visitors can view and purchase works online. They only open in the evenings from 18 to 21:30 hrs because they spend the morning doing their art work.
